Taxonomy: Issue on the strain identity [12635] (cf., [13768] as Spicellum roseum).
More information: Received as 'Spicellum roseum DAOM 209012' on Dec 1996, but found to be a different fungus based on ITS seq on Jan 2015; Name changed to Trichothecium ovalisporum on Nov 2019 based on the newly determined ITS seqs; Same to T. ovalisporum JCM 35546 (received as T. sympodiale DAOMC 209012 on May 2022]; JCM 10014 is same to DAOM/DAOMC 209012, but this strain is different from CBS 227.76/ATCC 36477; DAOMC 209012 is not ex-type of T. sympodiale (G. Okada, May 2022).
