Mix components thoroughly, adjust pH to 5.0 and autoclave under a N₂-CO₂ (80:20, v/v) gas atmosphere. After cooling, add per liter the following solutions from anaerobic stocks (autoclaved or *filter-sterilized):

10% (w/v) Yeast extract (BD-Difco) solution	`5.0`	ml
10% (w/v) Trypticase peptone (BD-BBL) solution	`20.0`	ml
Trace vitamins* (see Medium No. 197)	`10.0`	ml
5% (w/v) Na₂S·9H₂O solution	`10.0`	ml

Readjust pH to 5.5 - 6.0 with sterile 1 N H₂SO₄, if necessary.
