MgSO₄·7H₂O	`0.5`	g
CaCl₂·2H₂O	`0.25`	g
NaCl	`2.25`	g
Trace vitamins (see Medium No. 197)	`10.0`	ml
Trace element solution (see below)	`1.0`	ml
Se/W solution (see Medium No. 317)	`1.0`	ml
Resazurin	`1.0`	mg
Yeast extract	`0.5`	g
Casitone (Difco)	`0.5`	g
Distilled water	`900.0`	ml

Mix components thoroughly and autoclave under a N₂-CO₂ (4:1, v/v) atmosphere. After cooling, aseptically and anaerobically add the following solutions (autoclaved or *filtersterilized):

Phosphate solution (see below)	`30.0`	ml
1 M Mannitol solution*	`20.0`	ml
8% NaHCO₃ solution*	`50.0`	ml

Distribute the medium into appropriate culture vessels (e.g., 10 ml in Hungate tubes) under the same gas mixture. Then, add per liter the following solution (filter-sterilized, freshly prepared):

0.1 M Dithiothreitol solution 10.0 ml

Trace element solution:
Use trace element solution of Medium No. 243 without Na₂SeO₃·5H₂O.
Phosphate solution:
