Trace mineral solution (see below) | 9.0 | ml |
Trace vitamins (see Medium No. 197) | 10.0 | ml |
10% FeSO4·7H2O solution | 5.0 | µl |
Tryptone (BD-Difco) | 2.0 | g |
Yeast extract | 2.0 | g |
Glucose | 2.0 | g |
Resazurin | 1.0 | mg |
Distilled water | 1.0 | L |
Mix components and adjust pH to 7.5. Bring to a boil, then cool down and distribute into culture vessels under a N2 gas stream. Seal with butyl rubber stoppers and autoclave. Prior to inoculation, add the following solution (autoclaved under a N2 atmosphere) into the medium (per liter):

FeCl2·4H2O | 0.2 | g |
MnCl2·4H2O | 0.1 | g |

ZnCl2 | 0.1 | g |
CuCl2 | 0.2 | g |
H3BO3 | 0.01 | g |
Na2MoO4·2H2O | 0.01 | g |
NaCl | 1.0 | g |
Na2SeO3·5H2O | 0.02 | g |
Distilled water | 1.0 | L |
Dissolve nitrilotriacetic acid at first and adjust pH to 6.5 with KOH. Then proceed to add the minerals.
