Unless otherwise stated, sterilize media by autoclaving at 121°C for 15 min.

1242   ANAEROBACULUM MEDIUM

Trypticase peptone  5.0     g
Peptone  5.0     g
Yeast extract  10.0     g
NaCl  8.0     g
Salt solution (see Medium No. 676)  40.0     ml
Resazurin  0.5     mg
Distilled water  960.0     ml
Mix components thoroughly, bring to a boil and cool down under a stream of N2. While gassing, add the following solutions and adjust pH to 7.0:
5% L-Cysteine·HCl·H2O solution  10.0     ml
Distribute the medium into culture vessels (e.g., 10 ml in Balch type tubes) under N2, seal with butyl rubber stoppers and autoclave. After cooling, add per liter the following solutions (autoclaved and stored under a N2 atmosphere):
1 M Glucose solution  6.0     ml
1 M Na2S2O3 solution  10.0     ml
