Unless otherwise stated, sterilize media by autoclaving at 121°C for 15 min.

| KH2PO4 | 0.3 | g |
| NaCl | 25.0 | g |
| KCl | 0.3 | g |
| Yeast extract | 0.2 | g |
| Trace element solution (see Medium No. 439) | 1.0 | ml |
| Resazurin | 1.0 | mg |
| Distilled water | 950.0 | ml |
Mix components thoroughly, adjust pH to 7.9 with NaOH and autoclave under a N2 atmosphere. After cooling, add the following solutions:
| 1 M Glucose solution | 20.0 | ml |
| 5% MgCl2·6H2O solution | 20.0 | ml |
| 1% CaCl2·2H2O solution | 10.0 | ml |
Aseptically and anaerobically distribute the medium into culture vessels under a N2 gas stream and seal with butyl rubber stoppers. Prior inoculation, add per liter the following solution from an anaerobic stock (autoclaved and stored under a N2 atmosphere):
