Unless otherwise stated, sterilize media by autoclaving at 121°C for 15 min.
1045 FASTIDIOUS ANAEROBE BROTH MEDIUM

| NaCl | 5.0 | g |
| Soluble starch | 1.0 | g |
| NaHCO3 | 0.4 | g |
| Glucose | 1.0 | g |
| Sodium pyruvate | 1.0 | g |
| L-Cysteine·HCl·H2O | 0.5 | g |
| Sodium pyrophosphate | 0.25 | g |
| L-Arginine | 1.0 | g |
| Hemin | 0.01 | g |
| Distilled water | 1.0 | L |
Mix components, adjust pH 7.2 and autoclave. Cool medium under a N2-CO2 (4:1, v/v) gas stream and add anaerobically the following solution (filter-sterilized).

Aseptically and anaerobically distribute the medium into culture vessels under the same gas mixture and seal with butyl rubber stoppers. Readjust pH to 7.0 - 7.2.
