| Soluble starch | 0.25 | g |
| Sodium pyruvate | 0.15 | g |
| K2HPO4 | 0.15 | g |
| MgSO4·7H2O | 0.025 | g |
| Distilled water | 250.0 | ml |
| Artificial seawater (see below) | 750.0 | ml |
Mix components except artificial seawater, adjust pH to 7.2, and autoclave. Separately autoclave artificial seawater. After cooling, combine the two solutions.
